Of course, you can come up with your Characters and Stories for your next Solo Roleplaying Adventure for free. All you need is your Imagination. But, if you sometimes have trouble working out your Characters or they turn out the Same all the time, let me show you a great Book for that. Go to the Section with Character Creation to see how I use this Book.

Character Creation – Chapter 1
Let’s Create a Character together and I will then fill out a Character File for you to Download over on DriveThruRPG.
Here is a picture of the First Page of the Book so you can see, what I rolled.
Race – 7 – Halfling
Gender – 1 – Male
Age – 4 – Young Adult
NPC Disposition – 6 – Hostile
Alignment – 3 – Chaotic Good
Religion – 3 – Moderately religious
Financial – 6 Impoverished
Perfect.
A young male Halfling. He is Impoverished and Hostile but Chaotic Good and a bit religious.
Nice, let’s move forward.
On the Next page, you decide on the Player Class or the NPC Class. I want to work out a Player Character.
d12 – 6 – Monk
A young Halfling Monk – I would like to roll a d6 to see how old he is. Base Age is 20+1 so he is 21 Years old. This is not in the Book, this is how I determen the Age of my Characters.
In the Book, the Next Page will be Character Traits with a d100. Let’s roll it 3 Times and see what the Dice will give us.
92 – sweet – 17 – Determined – 36 – Honest
So we got the total differences to the Hostile Prompt from before. But, I do have an Idea of how to Incorporate it into the Character. But let’s move one
A d100 Table with Disabilities and Character Quirks. Let’s roll… 90 – The player is vegetarian.
That is interesting. Halflings for me I always see the Color Green with them. Like Foresty, Earthy Vibes. So that he is a vegetarian is just the best.
He is really sweet and honest. but he lost all his money and now he is hostile against everyone.
Let’s find him a Name: 39 – Gauche 83 – Tom
His Name is Tom Gauche and he is 21 Years old.
OK – Let’s Find Tom a Background.
d20 – 10 – You were adopted off the streets by a street gang or faction. The members raised you and when you came of age you took an influential position in the faction’s hierarchy.
That could really great tie in with the Monk roll. How about the Faction who took im in where Monks.
OK. we now know that Tom was adopted and raised by Monks, but, what about his Birth Family – What do we know about his Past?
Parents – 4 – The character’s father is dead, but their mother is alive.
Place of Birth – 8 – A temple or monastery. I could not have rolled better. I also almost have a Storyline for his Background in mind.
Sexuality – 1 – Heterosexual
Childhood – 5 – The character was raised in a very caring environment.
Siblings – 6 – 1d4 siblings – 2 Siblings –
Romantic Status – 3 – Married.
Wow, there is a lot to uncover in this Section.
The Father is dead, the mother is still alive and he has 2 Siblings. He was raised in a caring environment and born in a monastery. He is married to a woman. I think the Storyline is working well. Are his two Siblings Twins? and what Gender do they have? 50/50 Y/N – 13 – Yes, the Siblings are Twins and they are both male.
What does Tom look like?
Height – Let’s see what we roll, but we can’t forget that he is a Halfling – 2 Tall. Ok, so he is Tall for a Halfling
Build – 2 Lean, and compact.
Eye Color 4 – Green – (I don’t make these rolls up, Somethimes the Dice fall funny.)
Nose Type – 2 Delicate
Hair Color – Dark Brown
So Tom, quite tall for his Height as a Tiefling is lean and Compact. He has green eyes, dark brown hair, and a delicate nose.
Items – Chapter 2
Ok, so on to the second Chapter of the Book, and let’s find ourselves some Items.
Weapons – 14 – Spear
Armor – 4 – Mail
Pocket Filler – 8 – A tiny leater bag of sweet smelling balm.
Mundane Treasure – 46 – 1d6 (5) white lilies made from silk.
Peculiar Knickknacks – 43 – A large unfamiliar insect sealed in amber
Mundane Scavenging Items – 30 – 1d10 (9) glass mugs
Books – 46 – A History of Bington Fashion by Margaret Chowder.
He is wearing a Male for Armor and carries a Spear as a Weapon.
The Backpack he grabbed before the Monastery no longer existed, contained a weird Variety of Things. Some might be a great deal to sell them to get some Money.
A tiny leather bag of sweet-smelling balm, 5 white lilies made from silk (The Monastery is crafting these and trying to sell them at the fairs and markets.), A large unfamiliar insect sealed in amber, 9 glass mugs, and a book. A History of Byington Fashion by Margaret Chowder.
Areas – Chapter 3
So we know they are from a Monastery but, I like to find out a little bit more about the Kingdom they are living in.
Primary Race – 6 – Gnomes
Size – 2 – Small
Primary Terrain – 1 – Open grasslands
Type – 1 – Democracy
Religion – 3 – Moderately religious
Military Tendencies – 5 – Retaliatory.
The Monastery is placed at the Edge between a Forest and an open Grassland. It belongs to a Small Democracy Town, Expera, with Gnomes and Halflings living among each other. The Gnomes and Halflings are moderately religious and have a Gnome Army that is relatively Retaliatory.
Next, there are some Story Hooks or Quest Tables, let’s roll on them to find us a List of Quest, and we could potentially move forward.
Quest Table – 30 – On the night of the full moon, a warewolf tasks the players with escorting him home and locking him in his won basement until the madness has passed.
Dungeon Settings – 7 – An old abandoned town.
Hostile Encounters – 14 – Hostile ghost rise from an ancient battleground as the players pass through.
Dungeion Events – 15 – The players discovers a room filled with instruments of torture.
City Events – 8 – A child attempts to lure the party into an alley
Wilderness Events – 14 – The players pass a graveyard dotted with mourners
Sea Events – 11 – The captain is killed in an accident
Festival – 2 – The Summer Harvest Festival – This festival is held mid-summer, when the cycle of sow, grow and harvest is in full swing. It is a time for music, dancing and fresh foods.
Some of them do not work as well with the Story I made up in my mind, but it could be a nice Curveball when playing. The Story does not always have to go as planned by you. Sometimes it is great if you embrace the chaos.
My Character – Tom Guache
And here is our Character and Story Creation out of 1 Book with Random Tables.
I made a little Character Sheet over on DriveThruRPG for you to Download if you would like to explore this Character. I might try him out in the Future. Please let me know in the Comments if you used him for an RPG and what Adventure he had.

BACKSTORY
On a stormy winter Night, a Monk was on its way from the market back to the Monastery. Deep in the forest he heard some noises and found two little Halfling boys and their mother in labor. Close to the Monastery, he grabbed the mother and they ran. With the help of the Doctor working there a healthy son was born this night. Their father was killed in the woods the same night, so the monks decided to let them stay here in exchange for their helping hands.
The 3 Boys grew up as monks and learned to work with weapons, giving them a chance to defend the Monastery against evil. The mother was working in the gardens having a green thumb. Every day she grabbed Vegetables and brought them to the Kitchen. Shortly after their arrival, the Monks decided to open up the Monastery as a safe haven for mothers with their children. And soon after that a lot of families were living under the roof.
Tom grew up to be sweet, honest, and religious. Being the shortest of all the Children, Tom was determined to be the best in everything. A lot of the monks he saw as his father’s figures. Looking up to them.
THE TOWN
The Monastery is placed at the Edge between a Forest and an open Grassland. It belongs to a Small Democracy Town, Expera, with Gnomes and Halflings living among each other. The Gnomes and Halflings are moderately religious and have a Gnome Army that is relatively Retaliatory.
STORY HOOK
Today – 21 years old he just got married to Polgara – A girl he met in the Monastery growing up. It was the day after their wedding day when something in the Monastery caught fire. being the hottest summer day of the Year, soon after the entire Monastery was in flames. Not everyone survived that day. Not everyone from his family survived that day. Losing his mother in the debris all who survived were forced to go and find shelter somewhere else.
The Goal of the Adventure is to find the families and all the monks who have been living there for decades a new safe haven. Tom is getting more Hostile the longer they are on the road, feeling a bit overwhelmed with the situation.
