Writing Challenge in November – Rough Draft Challange by Heart Breathings

Every Year in November I am writing a Story. For 3 Years now, I used the Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) as a Guide. This Year, I am going to write the Rough Draft Challenge by Heart Breathings. Sarra Cannon has not published the official Rules jet, but there is still 1 Month left. October is widely known for Preptober. Now, Nanowrimo is in a bit of a Problem at the Moment, because of AI. Now, I sometimes like to use ChatGPT for different things, but definitely not for my stories. So, for the last 3 years, during the Challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to write. But this year, I don’t know anything about my Story. So I thought, I am using the Adventure Crafter by Tara to help me create an outline for November. Let me know in the Comments, what you think about my story.

For my outline, I am using the Plot Dot Methode by Derek Murphy and the Adventure Crafter to get some Ideas for the Story. So, we have the First Plot Dot which is Ordinary World.

ORDINARY WORLD
Really Bad DaySomething PeculiarGrasping at Straws
Trying to regain control of the ordinary world but setbacks mount.Something unique or strange happens, but they dismiss it. Trying to regain control of ordinary world but setbacks mount.

So, for this Adventure Crafter, I decided on the Themes in this Order.

Personal, Action, Mystery, Social and Tension

Let’s find my Main Character. His Name is Eric Walters. That is all I know for the Moment. So let’s try and generate the First Scene.

PLOT POINTSCHARACTERS INVOKED
45 – 8 – Mystery – A Crime is Committed – A crime is committed either in this TP or is learned about in this TP
22 – 4 – Personal – None
06 – 2 – Personal – Plotline New = None
62 – 10 – Social – Reinforcements – A Cha who is running low on human resources gets a boost. Cha – 35 New Robber 2
44 – 5 – Action – This TP involves a chase, where one Cha is pursuing another. Cha – Cha – 65 New – 71 logical Robber 1 and Eric

How about this…

Eric works as some sort of a Security Guard. He works the Night Shift when a Robbery takes place. A Diamond gets stolen and Eric has to run after him but gets distracted or held back by a decoy. He can’t catch him and loses his Job. Somehow the Robber knew exactly where to be and when.

Something Peculiar

Ok, now for the 2nd Scene. Let’s roll a d100 for the Plotline – Logical – I only have 1 at the Moment.

PLOT POINTSCHARACTERS INVOKED
97 – 7 – Action – Meta – 96 – Plotline Combo – So we don’t have another Plotline so let’s use this as a New Plotline

11 – 8 – Mystery – None
42 – 6 – Action – Immediately – Immediate action is required in this TP, whatever is going on.
05 – 9 – Mystery – Conclusion – New Plotline – None

The Next day Eric is called into the Office and he is sure to find out who the thief was, but his Boss kicks him out. He’s already been replaced it’s only been a few Hours. So Eric decides to dig for himself to find the Missing Diamond.

He will be back by then. Leo leaves and Eric is alone at home.

He goes on the Computer, and looks for the next Trains, leaving for somewhere new, he has never been. He tries to make it, but the Train leaves seconds before he arrives at the train station.

Too fast he tries to run Eric over – Eric can save himself in the last second, and the Car drives away. The Glasses were tinted and he could not see who it was. But he was definitely sure, that it had to be the Thiefs from last Night. Gladly he did not hurt himself too much, only his Wrist was hurting a lot. He goes home and grabs a Bandage.
