Easy Adventure Creation – Roll up an Adventure using the Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox and my own Character Creation

In the Post before, I rolled up a Character. Her Name is Seraphina Garcia and she is a Gnome Druid – Level 2. You can find her Character Creation by clicking on the Link below.

Today I will be using the Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox 1+2 – You can find your own Copy over on DriveThru RPG by clicking the Links or the Pictures below.

I absolutely love using those 2 Books for my Solo Roll Adventure. I will most likely use the following Tables in the 2 Books – These are my favorites.

B1 – P106 – Wilderness Events

So here is the Story Hook we got from our previous Character Creation:

The Enchanted Forest
A magical forest is dying, and only you can save it by finding the source of its decay.

Day 1

Let’s start with the Weather.

It is 1 spring, 2 summer, 3 autumn/fall, or 4 winter = 3 Autumn/Fall

Now let’s roll on the Weather Table d20 – 3 – Rainy

Normally I roll a Fate Roll at the beginning of each Day. d100 – 16 – Nothing happens.

After that, I use the Story Points Table. d100 – 32

Uuh I rolled an 18+1 for = 19 for a DC of 15+1. – So we gained a Clue Point for our Adventure.

Ok, we heard a Loud thumping from either above or below the current area we are in.

Let’s roll for a Wilderness Event d100 – 10 – Religious pilgrimage – OK. These Tables are quite loose in explanation so you can fill up your own Ideas. We now roll on the Situation Table below and find 2-3 Words for this Religious pilgrimage

412 – ridicule, 320 – leap, 173 – dispute

Here is my Idea: The Trial of the Laughing Leap.

Deep in a mystical forest, the Seraphina comes across a clearing where an ancient stone altar is surrounded by pilgrims from various religions. The air is thick with tension and anticipation. This is the site of an annual religious pilgrimage known as The Trial of the Laughing Leap.

DC 15 – Religious Check to find out what is going on. Natural 20 + 1 for 21

One of the Pilgrims faces us and asks us for help. “We need to do a Sacrifice. We need to Leap over this River. By doing so, we will earn a great Year of prosperous fishing. But we can’t decide who will take the leap of faith. We are all older and not so good on our feet. Can you help us?”

Here is the Challenge

We are making 3 d20 Athletics Checs and we need a Middle of 15 to succeed. 10 – 7 – 8 = 25 / 3 is 8… Fail

We will lose 1d10 HP 3

I gave it my best, but the Stones in the Water were so slippery that I fell into it. The Pilgrims helped me out of the Cold water and gave me a hot drink. “Well, thank you for trying at least.” “I am really sorry, that it did not work.” “Maybe next year.”

After saying goodbye to the Pilgrims I decided to move a bit further before I was to cold. I made a small Fire and warmed myself next to it. It was not so easy finding a Wood that was not wet from the constant Rain today.

Let’s roll a d20 – Is there anything else happening today or do we get a Long Rest? 50/50 Chance – 1-10 Something happens – 11-20 Nothing Happens. 6 – Something happens. Let’s roll another Story Point

d100 – 13 – Bane

DC 13 – Wisdom saving throw – 5 + 2 = 7.

18 – The character retreats into his or her mind and becomes paralyzed. The effect ends if the character takes any damage.

OK.- Here is the Problem. Paralyzed can’t move until it gets hit. It is really hard doing this alone in the woods without moving or waiting for someone to come by. How about this

Something infected this area and I felt, that I could not move anymore. In panic i started to roll and landed in the Fire.

Take 1d4 Damage 4 Of course. But at least I got rid of the Paralyzed Stat

Is anything else happening today? 1-25 Yes – 26-100 No 26 – No We can take that Long Rest now.

Day 2

Let’s start with the Weather: 10 – Overcast

Life Event 43 – Nothing happens

Story Point 61 – Insight 1 – Inspiration

Wilderness Events – 17 Flash flood

I heard a loud noise in the distance. But I was not sure if I could figure out what was happening.

DC 15+1 Perception Check to see if we can spot something or get a d6 HP damage. 11 + 2 = 13. No. let’s get some damage:

Out of nowhere a Flash flood was coming at me. During the running from it I missed a Root from a Tree and fell down. Losing 2 HP.

Let’s grab another Story Point. I feel like it was a short Day.

I want to try out the Element Roll that was introduced in the second Part. You use 6 d12 and Roll them at one. You can then look at the Table and then you will get some different Outcomes. So let’s see what happens.

Purple, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Multicolor

Purple – 7, Blue – 8, Green – 2, Red – 11, Yellow – 11, Multicolor – 12

We get an NPC, Individual Treasure, and Skill Challenge

So let’s start with the NPC

37 – Male, 60 – Lawful Evil – 76 – Tradesperson / Merchant / Artisan / Professional (Roll on Profession Table, below)
Age 36
26 – Tailor, 7 – Paladin, 05 – Foolish/idiotic, 81 – Extremely Wealthy
48 – Theron Nagy

After a long walk in the Forest, I came across a Merchant with his Wagon moving between towns. “Ah, Miss. Are you interested in some cloth? We have Winter soon. Get you some warm cloth. Only 2 Gold Coins.”

“You know what. I think I just might be Interested. I took out 2 Gold Coins and he gave me a Furcoat”

After walking some more, I saw something shining behind a Treetrunk.

I am using my own Items Table for the Individual Treasure – 89 – Rune-etched Sword – There is no official Rune-etched Sword in dndbeyond, so I used a normal Shortsword and gave it a +2 to the Damage. The Runes should be for something.

O my god, just how lucky I got. A Sword and a great one as well. I took it and put it behind my Back.

Skill Challenge – 6 + 2 – No no. But let’s find out what it would be. 711 – Ammunition, 704 -Nimble, 360 – Son

When taking out the Sword I heard something but I could not grabb what it was.

Summary

Despite the fact, that I absolutely love rolling up a new Adventure, I did not get into this so much. I will stop here and start creating a new one. Maybe using my little Gnome Druid for it.

Again, these are the Books I was using to create the Adventure.
